Kaitlyn goes to school

Well, the day has come. Kaitlyn Cecilia started preschool today. She woke up with excitement, had a waffle (her usual) for breakfast, got dressed, wanted to wear her new bows in her hair, took pictures at the house willingly and then we were off. We gathered in the school parking lot with her class and teacher and I knew we were in for a problem when she wouldn't let go of my leg. Brian and I were able to walk her into her classroom, find her seat (she's sitting with 3 boys!) and stay for a few minutes. When we said good bye and attempted to leave, she came running and screaming behind us. Brian exited to the lobby with Brady and I walked her back to her seat where the aide got her busy. I said goodbye and walked out - not looking back. It was the hardest thing I have done to date! I KNOW she will LOVE it and will be fine...I honestly think its harder on me than it is her. She will be there all day and I pick her up at 2:55pm. I'll send an update after I pick her up. Send positive thoughts and prayers that she has a great day and wants to go back on Thursday - it will be alot easier if she attends school willingly!

A weekend in the city...

Kaitlyn has her first Irish dance feis here in downtown Atlanta. We decided to make a weekend of it (she dances today and tomorrow) and spend the night at the hotel where the feis is being held. We started very early this morning with Kaitlyn dancing just before 9am! She did amazing and placed in both her dances (second in jig; 3rd in reel). After she finished dancing we headed to the children's museum of Atlanta. The kids had a blast trying all the cool things to do. Then we grabbed some lunch in centennial park (it's 65 degrees here so we ate outside!!) and then hit the aquarium. The kids are excited to swim at the indoor pool later and then it's more dancing in the morning!

Kaitlyn's first ATL Irish Dance performance

Since moving to Atlanta, the kids had to get involved in their activities down here. Kaitlyn started Irish dancing at Mulligan School back in August. She competed in her first Southern Region Feisanna in November. Tonight, she performed at her first community event with some of the other girls from the dance studio. She did fantastic. I took several pictures as well as a video of her dancing with the other girls. She will be doing many more performances as she made the Tara Dance Company (which is a handpicked dance team that travels the city in the Spring doing performances). We are quite proud of our little Irish dancer and can't wait to see where her dancing takes us! Here is the video...
