Kaitlyn's Light Jig at Winter Feis

THis is Kailtyn's light jig performance at the feis last weekend.

Kaitlyn's First Feis

Last weekend, Kaitlyn participated in her First Feis. In Irish Dancing terminology, that means competition. There was a large Irish Dancing competition in downtown St. Louis called the St. Louis Winter Feis. This was her first experience with this type of judged dancing. She was dancing in 2 categories: Light Jig and Reel. These are the two dances that she has been learning in her classes. She competed at the beginner 1 level.Because I am still recovering from my surgery, I was unable to attend the feis, so Brian took her and was the perfect "Dance Dad"! Below are two pictures he took with his phone. Here is Kaitlyn before taking the stage for her first dance, the Reel. Here is Kaitlyn after performing both of her dances. She received 1st place in her jig and 2nd place in her reel. We are so incredibly proud of her! To place in both of her dances at her first feis is quite an acheivement! A busy beginning to February

So February began with a bang! Kaitlyn had her first Irish dancing performance (pics and video were posted 2 weeks ago) and she did amazing. I had hip replacement surgery, so I have had amazing help here at home and Brady spent time with Grandma and Grandpa K in Cleveland while I started my recouperation at home. Things are starting to get back to normal around here but still busy as usual! We had a "minor" snow storm and Kaitlyn LOVED being out in the flakes! She started shoveling Daddy's side of the driveway (with her princess shovel daddy bought her!) and loved sledding down the hill in her new sled. Brady returned to My First School after missing a week when he was playing in Cleveland with Grandma and Grandpa K. It was DINOSAUR WEEK and he was beyond thrilled to get involved and play. He liked "looking" for dinosaurs with his magnifying glass, playing in the dino rocks sensory table, digging for dino bones and even dressing up like a dinoasuar! ...

Another video...

Here's anothe video...again, she's closest to the door and the dancer that seems to be doing her own thing...but it's ADORABLE!!!
Here is the video of Kaitlyn dancing. She is the one on the end, closest to the door. She DID AWESOME!!!

Kaitlyn's first Irish Dancing performance

Kaitlyn participated in her very first Irish Dancing performance tonight at The Emerald Ball at Andre's in South County. This was a private event and I didn't think we would be able to see her perform, so I took this picture before we left the house. When we arrived to pick her up, they hadn't even started dancing yet and we were able to stand by the door and watch! We got a decent video, which I will post next. It is beyond adorable and we are so incredibly proud of her. She did a great job and is alreay asking when her next "show" will be!

He really liked this as there were lots of trucks and dirt to be busy with! Sitting on his shape square for circle time Shaking the tambourine during the welcome song "Who Came to School Today? Brady, Brady! SNOW in the parachute Painting a snow picture Playing in the snow! Bulldozing some dirt in the sensory table Making art with trucks rolled in paint TOOL PUZZLES! Using the screwdrivers in theworkshop He made his OWN construction worker hat with his name on it!
