Since living in Atlanta, we have been wanting to go to Stone Mountain Park. It's about an hour from our house, just outside the city of Atlanta. We had planned to go for their Pumpkin Festival in October, but time got away from us. Since they start their Christmas festivities early, we decided to take advantage of the free Saturday we had and go yesterday. The Christmas activities didn't start until around 2pm, so we headed there after lunch to check out the scene. We started with the Summit Skyride - a ride to the top of Stone Mountain. The mountain itself is a dome of granite that's sits at 1,686 ft above sea level. On the side of the mountain is a carving that depicts three figures of the Confederate States of America : Stonewall Jackson , Robert E. Lee , and Jefferson Davis . We were able to exit the skyride and walk around on top of the mountain. It was quite windy up there! Then we headed down the mountain to check out some of the happenings at the Crossroads where...
