Final Ballet Class

Since Kaitlyn's game was cancelled on Saturday, she was able to attend her final dance class of the semester. It's an observation day for the parents, so we were able to sit in on the class and got to see all that she has learned. She is doing very well and will continue to take ballet, but we'll take a little break while we focus on soccer and maybe start piano lessons. Below are some of the highlights of her performance.

Soccer Practice - getting her medal

Kaitlyn had soccer practice tonight and since her final game of the tournament was cancelled for weather, they recieved their "participation" medals tonight instead. She was so excited and proud to recieve her medal. Brady even got in on the fun and sat with the girls, thinking he was getting one too. He loves going to Kaitlyn's practices and kicking the ball around with Daddy. It was a hot and sticky night, but we had a fun time!

Soccer Tournament/Ballet

So this is the last weekend of the St. Paul soccer tournament Kaitlyn's team is playing in. Our first game was rescheduled due to severe thunderstorms and so we played 2 games the next day. Her final game today...was cancelled due to thunderstorms. She was bummed, but she was able to attend her final ballet class of the semester. The last class is always observation day, where the parents can sit in the studio and observe what they have been learning over the last 10 weeks. She really enjoys ballet and has learned so much since she began ballet classes almost 2 years ago. Hard to belive its been that long. To try something new, Kaitlyn took an Irish dancing class. She really enjoyed the new style of dancing and I think we will be taking more Irish dancing classes in our future. Our focus right now is on soccer, which she really enjoys. She is on a team with many of her friends and is having a lot of fun.

First day of Preschool - year 2

Kaitlyn is off to school today - first day back for her second year of preschool. She has Mrs. Moss and she is super excited to have new friends in her class. Some of her old friends are there too, but in a different class. She went right in the door and forgot to give me a hug and kiss goodbye - I followed her in the building to get it though! She is getting so big, so fast! Where did the time go? Today was an easy drop-off, but next year will be a different story when she's off to all-day, all-week kindergarden. This year she goes to school all day, tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays. She does love it and is learning so much! She is such a smart little girl!

First Soccer Game

Kaitlyn had her first soccer game (and team pictures) last weekend in a school sponsored tournament. We only had 2 practices! Our friday night game was rained out so we had to play 2 games on saturday. To say she ran her heart out is an understatement. They lost both games, but greatly improved in the second game! Our practice this week was great and I see a lot of fun this soccer season!

Soccer!

Kaitlyn started soccer! I can't believe she is old enough to be playing soccer! Her first practice was last night and she did so well, despite the heat! Her first game will be next weekend in a tournament and then her regualy schedule will start after Labor Day!

New Video!!

Ballet Camp Video

Fairview Horse Park /The Little Mermaid

The beginning of July we took the kids to Fairview Horse park for some horses and racing! They had a blast watching the horses run and race! It was a fun, summer night activity! Brian and I took Kaitlyn to see The Little Mermaid at The Muny, an outdoor theater in St. Louis at Forest Park. She had a great time and we even had an Ariel sighting when entering the theater! She had a blast!

Kaitlyn's Ballet Stories Camp at COCA

Kaitlyn took a week long ballet camp at COCA. She learned all things ballet and even put on a mini-recital on the last day of camp. She really enjoyed it and I see a lot of dancing in her future. She might be the cutest ballerina I've ever seen!

Busy, busy summer...

So this summer has just about flown right by me! I can't believe it's already August 3! Kaitlyn starts school in 2 weeks and the hot and lazy days will soon be behind me and I'll be running her to and from school, from one thing to another and the hustle and bustle of the fall/winter festivites will be here before I can blink. The month of July kept us very busy! We traveled to Cincinnati to visit with family and friends and to celebrate Brady's 2nd birthday and the 4th of July holiday. Kaitlyn had Ballet Stories ballet camp at COCA, Brian and I celebrated out 6th wedding anniversary and many other fun weekend activites thrown in the mix! Kaitlyn also started soccer this week! She's practicing once a week and then she has her first game in a tournament that starts next weekend! We will be quite busy on staurday mornings with soccer games! I have lots of pictures and videos to post! I will post them individually here. Enjoy!

Brady's 2nd Birthday/4th of July

We had quite the kick off to summer! Brady's birthday is July 2 - almost a 4th of July baby. So it seems as though his birthday will always be a big bash on the 4th of July holiday weekend! We headed to Cincinnati to celebrate with family and friends. The Kilbanes came down from Cleveland and we had ourselves a good, old-fashioned, summer, backyard bash! I borrowed a bouncy house from a friend and we had the inflatable pool out and the cornhold games going. It was so fun! Despite the heat, I think a great time was had by all who attended. We also were able to fit in a Reds/Indians baseball game and check out balloon fest at Coney Island. We all had a fantastic time and look forward to the next big bash! Below is a collage of our fun weekend. I just had too many pictures to try to upload them all here. Enjoy!
