A Taste of Spring in February

This past week we had unseasonably warm temperatures for February in St. Louis....60's and 70's. It was so beautiful and we just HAD to get outside and enjoy every second of the warm weather! On Wednesday, we headed to zoo around 11am, had our first "picnic" (as Kaitlyn calls any meal eaten outside), rode the carousel, the train and visited the children's zoo. We were there almost 4 hours and then Kaitlyn had ballet, we got frozen yogurt and headed home...it was a great day! Then Friday was a great day too so we visited Suson Park - a working farm with a great playground. Kaitlyn had fun visiting her horses and Brady enjoyed the freedom to be able to run, run and run some more!

The weather is a little more typical this week (in the 40's) so we haven't been able to be outside and Brady is really upset by this. We are looking forward to Spring - anxiously! Bring on the warmer weather...we love to be outside!

Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese!!

Brady decided he wanted to have his birthday party with his friends at Chuck E Cheese. He invited his best buddies from school and we had a great time. He scored tons of tickets in the ticket blaster, had a Star Wars cake and had a great time playing games with all his friends. Here are some highlights from the awesome party! A weekend in the city...

Kaitlyn has her first Irish dance feis here in downtown Atlanta. We decided to make a weekend of it (she dances today and tomorrow) and spend the night at the hotel where the feis is being held. We started very early this morning with Kaitlyn dancing just before 9am! She did amazing and placed in both her dances (second in jig; 3rd in reel). After she finished dancing we headed to the children's museum of Atlanta. The kids had a blast trying all the cool things to do. Then we grabbed some lunch in centennial park (it's 65 degrees here so we ate outside!!) and then hit the aquarium. The kids are excited to swim at the indoor pool later and then it's more dancing in the morning!

Kaitlyn's first ATL Irish Dance performance

Since moving to Atlanta, the kids had to get involved in their activities down here. Kaitlyn started Irish dancing at Mulligan School back in August. She competed in her first Southern Region Feisanna in November. Tonight, she performed at her first community event with some of the other girls from the dance studio. She did fantastic. I took several pictures as well as a video of her dancing with the other girls. She will be doing many more performances as she made the Tara Dance Company (which is a handpicked dance team that travels the city in the Spring doing performances). We are quite proud of our little Irish dancer and can't wait to see where her dancing takes us! Here is the video...
