Happy 5th Birthday to Kaitlyn Cecilia

Today is Kaitlyn's 5th birthday! She was born at 2:17pm on a Saturday afternoon in Bermuda! Hard to believe that it was 5 years ago....time sure does fly! She has already had a full day! She got to open her gifts this morning from mommy, daddy and Brady. She was so excited to see the new princess bicycle that she got and a matching princess helmet and bell! She also opened her package from Grammy, Pop-pop, Aunt Katie, Aunt Molly and Uncle Adam. She loved the new princess wedding dress with matching veil, bouquet and shoes. Grandma and Grandpa K sent her gift also and she opened it a few days ago! She got a new big girl Tinkerbell watch, a Fancy Nancy book for her book-reader, a Wizard of Oz book with a Ruby slipper necklace and some new clothes for fall! She will be styling for sure!
Then it was off to her Princess Tea Party at Sister's Tea House here in Fenton. She invited 9 of her best gal pals from school and they all came dressed as their favorite princess! Kaitlyn, of course, wore her new princess wedding dress. The girls made princess tiaras, had a luch and "tea" (strawberry-lemonade) in their very own tea cups. Then they recieved a visit from a very special princess - Sleeping Beauty! She helped the girls with their lunches, read them a story and then also played Cinderella BINGO. Kaitlyn opened all her gifts from her friends and then had cupcakes for dessert. She was very spoiled by her friends and recieved some very nice gifts. We will be very busy with Thank You notes this week!
The rain has cleared up for a while, so we took the new bike outside for a test drive and she did great! It will take some practice but she is getting the hang of it.
Now we are off to dinner at Red Lobster - Kaitlyn's choice! I will be posting pictures and video in a bit of her big day! Hope you enjoy!

A weekend in the city...

Kaitlyn has her first Irish dance feis here in downtown Atlanta. We decided to make a weekend of it (she dances today and tomorrow) and spend the night at the hotel where the feis is being held. We started very early this morning with Kaitlyn dancing just before 9am! She did amazing and placed in both her dances (second in jig; 3rd in reel). After she finished dancing we headed to the children's museum of Atlanta. The kids had a blast trying all the cool things to do. Then we grabbed some lunch in centennial park (it's 65 degrees here so we ate outside!!) and then hit the aquarium. The kids are excited to swim at the indoor pool later and then it's more dancing in the morning!
