More AZ photos

Here are some more photos from our trip to Arizona. The kids really enjoyed learning about a new place. They were always asking questions about plants and animals. We love being able to take our kids to new places and teach them new and exciting things about different parts of our country.

6:30am flights mean naps on the plane (notice Brady's head...he's asleep on Brian's lap)

Phoenix Zoo

At our resort...it was so nice to see greenery and colorful flowers!

At the Railroad Museum park. This place was so cool! It had a great outdoor playground with lots to do as well as a miniature train ride, carouse rides and museum about the railroad that come through Arizona. The kids loved it as did we since it gave us something to do in the morning while it warmed up a bit before heading to the pool.

BASEBALL GAME! Tuesday night we headed to Goodyear Ballpark for the Reds vs. Dodgers game - the Reds' and Indians' facility for spring training.

We saw Dusty Baker and his son walking in for the game.

Swimming at the pool....

On a small hike near Camelback mountain. Here they had a visitors center with lots of information about the area and maps of the various hiking trails and animals native to the area. The kids really liked learning about new kinds of animals here in their Children's library.

More swimming...I think my kids are part fish!

Rawhide is a "Western" town where they have shows and activities to do that are native to that time period. They had burro rides, a "rough rider" shoot out show, stage coach rides, panning for gold, petting zoo and even (mechanical) bull riding. We also ate dinner at the Steakhouse there - super tasty!

Kaitlyn on the burro

Brian on the bull..

Brady was too short to ride the burro, so he helped lead them on the trail.

Great form!

On our last day, we had some time to waste before heading to the airport so we took a scenic drive along the Apache Trail. The views were absolutely breathtaking. I think I may be making some of the photographs some artwork for our new house in Atlanta!

A weekend in the city...

Kaitlyn has her first Irish dance feis here in downtown Atlanta. We decided to make a weekend of it (she dances today and tomorrow) and spend the night at the hotel where the feis is being held. We started very early this morning with Kaitlyn dancing just before 9am! She did amazing and placed in both her dances (second in jig; 3rd in reel). After she finished dancing we headed to the children's museum of Atlanta. The kids had a blast trying all the cool things to do. Then we grabbed some lunch in centennial park (it's 65 degrees here so we ate outside!!) and then hit the aquarium. The kids are excited to swim at the indoor pool later and then it's more dancing in the morning!

Kaitlyn's first ATL Irish Dance performance

Since moving to Atlanta, the kids had to get involved in their activities down here. Kaitlyn started Irish dancing at Mulligan School back in August. She competed in her first Southern Region Feisanna in November. Tonight, she performed at her first community event with some of the other girls from the dance studio. She did fantastic. I took several pictures as well as a video of her dancing with the other girls. She will be doing many more performances as she made the Tara Dance Company (which is a handpicked dance team that travels the city in the Spring doing performances). We are quite proud of our little Irish dancer and can't wait to see where her dancing takes us! Here is the video...
