Busy busy busy....

So this is going to be one BIG post! I have been so crazy the last few weeks with the end of the school year and such that I've neglected my blog posting. I do apologize!
Let me get you caught up!
So after Disney World, a very special young lady turned 7 years old!! I can't believe Kaitlyn is 7! She's raring and ready for 2nd grade.
Here's some birthday pics...

Next, we celebrated Easter! Some great fun we had when my parents visited!

The last weekend in April, I met some friends from St. Louis in Nashville for a fun girls weekend. Two of them ran the Rock n Roll half marathon that saturday. We had a blast!

Kaitlyn competed in the Peach state Feis the first weekend in May. She danced three dances and placed in two of them. We are so proud of her. She danced in a bigger field of competition this time around, making it more difficult to place.

One of her school friends dances also for another school.

Mother's Day was very special! We went to a wonderful mass and the out to brunch. I am truly spoiled by Brian and the kids ;)

Project 5 Task 1

What are the benefits of blogging for students?  There are many benefits of blogging for students. Students can use blogging to express what they have learned about a specific topic in the classroom. For example, students have been learning about marine animals in science class. Students have been following the nesting of sea turtles in Hilton Head Island. They have each chosen a nest and have been following it on their website. Every few days, students read the progress of the nest online and then create a blog post on what they read and include images to share with their classmates.  Another benefit to students blogging is for them to be able to express themselves creatively. Students can create a weekly poem blog post where they find a poem they like, copy it to their blog post (citing the author and resource where they found it) and then summarize the poem and write about why they chose it and what they liked most about it.  Click the link below to access the Pr...

12 Days of Pinterest: Day 8

Day 8: 12/17/12 Ok, so I apologize for the break in my "12 days of Pinterest" posts. My parents were in from Ohio the last 5 days and we were busy celebrating Christmas (early) and doing all the St. Louis holiday things there are to do (lights, train displays, Christmas concerts....you know!). Today I am doing a something that when I saw it on Pinterest - I knew I HAD to do it! We have a ton of ornaments. They are currently on our tree (duh) but when they are in storage the other 11 months of the year, they are kept wrapped in tatty tissue paper in shirt boxes that are falling apart. Every year I say "I am going to get one of those "ornament organizers" (the ones you see at Target and Home Depot)....and every year when I go to buy one, I go into sticker shock! How can a piece of plastic that holds 12 ornaments be $20! Of course we have more than a dozen ornaments, so I went on a hunt for something cheaper! Here it is! It cost me $2.50 to make. I used cardboa...
