St. Paul Trunk or Treat and Carving Pumpkins

So we sure had a weekend packed with fun! Saturday night the kids' school had their annual "Trunk or Treat". Everyone parks their cars at school and the kids go from "trunk" to "trunk" begging for candy! The kids love it because they get to see all their friends dressed up in their costumes, as well as get lots of candy! Since Wednesay is Halloween, we decided to carve our pumpkins tonight. The kids love this - in theory - but aren't big fans of he process. Kaitlyn doesn't like sticking her hand IN the pumpking at all, let alone touching any of the "goo"...and Brady just likes seeing it all lit up when it's finished. Kaitlyn did design her own "Jack-o-lantern" this year and Brady helped by telling me which shapes he wanted on his pumpkin face. The kids are really looking forward to trick-or-treating this Halloween.

Kaitlyn digging out the goo - making sure she doesn't touch any of it - she said she needed a really long scooper!

Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese!!

Brady decided he wanted to have his birthday party with his friends at Chuck E Cheese. He invited his best buddies from school and we had a great time. He scored tons of tickets in the ticket blaster, had a Star Wars cake and had a great time playing games with all his friends. Here are some highlights from the awesome party! A weekend in the city...

Kaitlyn has her first Irish dance feis here in downtown Atlanta. We decided to make a weekend of it (she dances today and tomorrow) and spend the night at the hotel where the feis is being held. We started very early this morning with Kaitlyn dancing just before 9am! She did amazing and placed in both her dances (second in jig; 3rd in reel). After she finished dancing we headed to the children's museum of Atlanta. The kids had a blast trying all the cool things to do. Then we grabbed some lunch in centennial park (it's 65 degrees here so we ate outside!!) and then hit the aquarium. The kids are excited to swim at the indoor pool later and then it's more dancing in the morning!

Kaitlyn's first ATL Irish Dance performance

Since moving to Atlanta, the kids had to get involved in their activities down here. Kaitlyn started Irish dancing at Mulligan School back in August. She competed in her first Southern Region Feisanna in November. Tonight, she performed at her first community event with some of the other girls from the dance studio. She did fantastic. I took several pictures as well as a video of her dancing with the other girls. She will be doing many more performances as she made the Tara Dance Company (which is a handpicked dance team that travels the city in the Spring doing performances). We are quite proud of our little Irish dancer and can't wait to see where her dancing takes us! Here is the video...
