Kilbane Happenings

Well, the day has come. Kaitlyn Cecilia started preschool today. She woke up with excitement, had a waffle (her usual) for breakfast, got dressed, wanted to wear her new bows in her hair, took pictures at the house willingly and then we were off. We gathered in the school parking lot with her class and teacher and I knew we were in for a problem when she wouldn't let go of my leg. Brian and I were able to walk her into her classroom, find her seat (she's sitting with 3 boys!) and stay for a few minutes. When we said good bye and attempted to leave, she came running and screaming behind us. Brian exited to the lobby with Brady and I walked her back to her seat where the aide got her busy. I said goodbye and walked out - not looking back. It was the hardest thing I have done to date! I KNOW she will LOVE it and will be fine...I honestly think its harder on me than it is her. She will be there all day and I pick her up at 2:55pm. I'll send an update after I pick her up. Send p...

Kaitlyn recently had her final ballet class that involved a recital for the parents. Kaitlyn had a bit of stage fright and didn't perform a single step for us. From this video, you can see some of her dancing (and singing) talents....it might be her best material yet! With the extreme heat in St. Louis, we haven't been doing much for me to blog. So sorry for our absence! The first week of August we traveled to Cleveland for 2 family reunions, a trip to Cedar point and lots of family fun! The kids were amazing during the 9 hour car ride and had fun playing with family and friends. Here are some of the highlights from our trip: Brady and Daddy at Fathead's Brewery Kaitlyn bowling..."it's just my size" she says! This past weekend we took a minivacation with the kids to Kansas City, Missouri. It's about 4 hours from St. Louis, and the kids traveled great! We visited the Crown center, a shopping and restaurant area of downtown. They have a crayola store there as well as A Clifford the Big Red Dog exhibit that the kids loved playing in and exploring. We visited the KC Zoo, where we got there early enough that all the animals were awake and alert. Kaitlyn has become an animal expert from watching Go Diego, GO! We ate at Lidia's Italian restaurant - YUMMY. After dinner we found this place called Paradise Park which was a great place for little ones. It had all sorts of fun things for them to do - Brady too! He loved the soft play room (great since he's still crawling everywhere) and the bouncy ball pit. It was really nice since it wasn't crowded! On Sunday kaitlyn wanted to see dinosaurs so we went to this restaurant called T-REX...a dinosaur themed restaurant. We had a great weeken...

Brady really enjoyed his leftover birthday cake! The last piece was mostly blue and black icing - which may have been a mistake to give to him, but he really enjoyed it! He even had icing in his ears and hair! Brady's new favorite food is SPAGHETTI! He loves it and while he doesn't get much into his mouth, he has a great time trying. Look at that face!

What an amazing weekend we had! Brady got his very first bike from wonderful friends of ours - its a Toy Story bike with all sorts of bells and whistles! Kaitlyn enjoyed the box!
