With Fall upon us, we headed to the park to discover very few people (BIG kids are back in school!) and very nice weather. We visited Suson Park - a working farm with a fish pond and playground. This is one of Kaitlyn's favorite park. All the animals were out, Kaitlyn enjoyed naming all of them (strange that several horses were named "Lucky"??) and Brady enjoyed cruising along the retaining wall at the playground! Kaitlyn started swim lessons this fall. She LOVES the water, but is a little cautious when the she realizes she can't touch the bottom. She refused to wear a floatation device this past summer and I am able to trust her to not go into deep water, but she needs to be able to feel condfident in the pool. She is doing great in lessons and is even doing things I've never seen her even want to try! Swimming her instructor - big arm circles Kicking backwards with the noodle Floating on her back - never would do this before! Practicing arm circles in the shallow water Down the slide - never would do this before either!

Hi All - I just posted pictures from our amazing Hawaii trip. We were gone for 10 days the beginning of September and it was an great trip! Kaitlyn and Brady stayed behind in St. Louis and had a rotation of grandparents here to play with them while we were away! We are so thankful for our wonderful parents who love our kids SO much and are able to come and help us when we need them! Kaitlyn is having a great time in preschool. My last post in August was of her first day - which was tough one for her and mommy! She took a few weeks to adjust, but now she loves it and enjoys going on tuesdays and thursdays. She is learning all sorts of new things - letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. She even gets to take gym, art and music class. When I pick her up she has a plethora of things to tell me about her class, Mrs. Mary (her teacher) and Mrs. Katie (the aide) and all the things that they do during the day. Brady is a growing, boisterous, full of energy 15 month old. He's not walking yet...

Brian and I took an amazing 10 day Hawaiian vacation to the islands of Hawai'i ("The Big Island") and Maui the beginning of September. We are very blessed to have 2 sets of parents who love our children very much and took turns watching them while we were away. The pictures are in reverse order of how our trip went...we started in Kona, on the big island for 5 days and flew over to Maui for another 5 days. We saw some amazing things - sea turtles right off the beach at our hotel in Kona, star-gazed at 9,000ft atop Mauna Kea, hiked across the active volcano crater at Hawai'i Volcano National Park, zip lined across beautiful scenery and waterfalls. Maui was a bit more relaxing but we still managed to fit it all sorts of adventures - drove to the summit of Haleakala to watch the sunrise (started that journey at 2:30am and endured 40 degree temps and 24 mile/hr winds - but AMAZING!), took a snuba cruise (like scuba diving, but with out carrying the tank) that was like swi...

Well, the day has come. Kaitlyn Cecilia started preschool today. She woke up with excitement, had a waffle (her usual) for breakfast, got dressed, wanted to wear her new bows in her hair, took pictures at the house willingly and then we were off. We gathered in the school parking lot with her class and teacher and I knew we were in for a problem when she wouldn't let go of my leg. Brian and I were able to walk her into her classroom, find her seat (she's sitting with 3 boys!) and stay for a few minutes. When we said good bye and attempted to leave, she came running and screaming behind us. Brian exited to the lobby with Brady and I walked her back to her seat where the aide got her busy. I said goodbye and walked out - not looking back. It was the hardest thing I have done to date! I KNOW she will LOVE it and will be fine...I honestly think its harder on me than it is her. She will be there all day and I pick her up at 2:55pm. I'll send an update after I pick her up. Send p...

Kaitlyn recently had her final ballet class that involved a recital for the parents. Kaitlyn had a bit of stage fright and didn't perform a single step for us. From this video, you can see some of her dancing (and singing) talents....it might be her best material yet!
