Happy St. Patrick's day!

Today we marched in the downtown St. Louis St. Patrick's Day parade. Last year, I was still recovering from hip replacement surgery so Brian took Kaitlyn. It was a sunny, clear 80 degree day. Today we weren't so lucky. The whole family went this year and while it was a lot of fun, it was cloudy and 40 degrees - brrrrrrr! Kaitlyn rode on the float with the other beginner girls while the older girls danced! It really was a lot of fun!

New Blog Name

Ok, so since we will soon no longer be living in St. Louis, I thought it best to change the name of the blog. The blog is now knows as Kilbane Adventures. Therefore the URL has also changed. It is: www.kilbanehappenings.blogspot.com I will still be posting and sending out reminders about recent posts. Lots of adventures lie ahead of us and we couldn't me more excited about moving to our new home in Atlanta, GA. We're hoping to be settled in sometime this summer. The kids will finish out the school year here in St. Louis.

Best Buddies

Yesterday was our first snow day of the year. Thursday is typically a day when both kids are in school all day. Being home all day together was a lot of fun. The played hard all day, took turns watching movies, made each other "cards", and got silly in the snow. When it came time for bed, Brady didn't want to go to his room. He wanted to sleep with his sister. Precious moments like these make this mommy's heart melt. They slept like this all night and when Brady woke me up at 6am, he shut Kaitlyn's door so she could sleep in.

Winter storm "Q"

So I'm a little disappointed! The east coast gets Winter Storm Nemo and we get "Q"?? I think they could have gotten a little more creative. Anyway, the kids' school was called off yesterday as I picked them up at 3, so I knew we would be staying home to enjoy it! Unfortunate Brian wasn't as lucky as us to be able today home. He went off to work and who knows when he'll get home. I've been out twice to shovel his side of the driveway so he can get in the garage when he does get home. The kids enjoyed being in the snow but weren't too thrilled when the wind was blowing sleet in their faces. It's brutal out there. Anyway, they were much happier when we came inside to warm up and had some hot cocoa with EXTRA marshmallows. Stay warm everyone!

Happenings....

Well....what a weekend! We had quite a fun and event filled weekend. Friday night Brian escorted Kaitlyn to the Daddy-Daughter Valentine dance sponsored by the school. They had a great time. Brady and I had our own date night - dinner at Cracker Barrel and then a trip to the pet store to see animals (his favorite!). Saturday we got invited to have dinner with friends from the kids' school while the girls in the group went to a tennis clinic. Kaitlyn loved it! Then we got up super early this morning to go to Kaitlyn's feis downtown. She did great placing second in the reel and third in her light jig. Her last feis she had quite a large case of the jitters, but she did great this time around! Kaitlyn then had an indoor soccer game where she played great. We made homemade pizza for dinner and ended the night with frozen yogurt at Menchie's! Thanks grandma an grandpa K for the valentine gift cards for the kids! What a weekend....

Fall Soccer Banquet

Last night, the St. Paul masses gathered to celebrate the fall sports athletes. Kaitlyn's team received their medals from their coaches. She just finished her first session of indoor soccer and starts her second session this Saturday. She is really enjoying it and is learning more and more with every game.

Our Cleveland Christmas visit

Oh wow...what a whirlwind! Because of the impending weather, we left St. Louis a day early to avoid snow on our journey to Cleveland to celebrate Christmas with the Kilbanes. We arrived late on Christmas day and braced ourselves for the "blizzard" that they were predicting. We got snow and wind, and COLD temperatures. The kids loved it. It was our first snow since last year (February)! We weren't out long due to the wind and sub-freezing temperatures. Kaitlyn was very upset that it wasn't "snowman making" snow...but they still found a way to throw it at us! Time to go inside for "Hot Cocoa" Time to open presents! The kids were beyond excited to open the presents under the tree! Brady was covered in a mountain of gifts! He sifted through them quickly though...Kaitlyn was quite excited with her first "Lego Friends" kit as well as her Dorothy dress and Toto (in his basket) from the Wizard of Oz. SLED RI...
