Here is a short video of Kaitlyn practicing her "Light Jig" at class last night. This is one of the 2 dances she will be doing at competition and at the show next weekend.

Kailtyn has been taking Irish dancing lessons since September. She goes to The Clark Academy of Irish Dancein Crestwood. She really enjoys it and will often "jig" all over the house if the mood strikes her right! She's been doing so well, that her teacher (Ms. Mary Jo) suggested we think about entering her in her first competition ("Feis" in Irish dancing terminology). She will be competeing in her First Feis on February 19! She will also be performing at a private event with the rest of the dance compnay next weekend! She is really looking forward to "being on stage" as she says! Here are some photos from her class last evening. I have posted any because there is only one week a month where parents are permitted into the studio to watch. She is doing really well for only being in classes for 4 months! We took the kids to the Bengals vs. Rams game back in December. Brady was quie into the music and was enjoying the music!!

So many of you may or may not know that I purchse the majority of my fruits and veggies from a local produce co-op. I place my "order" online, and pick up every other tuesday. The goodies are fresh, most are local and WAY better than anything I have ever found at the grocery store. The most popular item most people purchase is the "produce basket". This is a variety of fruits and veggies that changes with every order. We usually find out the weekend before pick up what exactly we are getting in the basket. There are "extras" available to order. These are usually staples that people use a lot of (tomates, celery, etc...), but also include some special items like the "fruit salad pack" and whole grain pizza crusts. I have been ordering for almost a year, and I love it! I took some time off from ordering, as we were out of town a lot we weren't going to be home to eat all of our goodies. So today, Monday January 16, 2012, was just another ordinary day for us. Kaitlyn doesn't normally go to school on Mondays, so school being off didn't make our day any different. The one thing that did make our mid-January day different was that at 9am it was 50 degrees...and rising! We made it to the park a little before 10am and met up with friends or a nice walk and then playtime at the playground! it was so nice to be outside and enjoy the fresh air - in January! We are usually all cooped up in the house because of the figid temperatures, snow and/or ice, so it was a nice change to be able to enjoy the outdoors. After a fun morning at the park, we sure worked up an appetite! I've been struggling with how to make my kids' lunches more creative. Brady really likes peanut butter sandwiches, but he likes to take it apart and eat it "open-faced" which is a real mess! For Christmas a few years ago, I got a tub of 100 cookie cutters - I broke them out and found ...

Yesterday, Brady started his fist session of "My First School" atThe Magic House, St. Louis' Children's museum. We got >1in of snow and it took me 90 minutes to get there (normally a 20 minute drive)....we got there a little late, but so glad we made it - HE HAD A BLAST! He painted, played in the gelatin (a sensory activity), made a shapes sun catcher (the theme of the week was shapes) and made a great first impression with his teacher, Ms. Dorie (same teacher when Kaitlyn attended this program 2 years ago). He is looking forward to going next week - CIRCUS week!!My little man is growing up so fast! Someone was a little excited about his fist day of school! My Picasso - will be going on my wall!
