12 Days of Pinterest: Day 2

12/05/12
Day 2 of my 12 Days of Pinterest - another one for the kids...I really hope they like this one! Ok, so the "puffins" didn't go over so well. I guess I should have know better than to put in green food coloring. Kaitlyn tried them and didn't like the chocolate (I'm pretty sure they were milk chocolate, but they could have been semi-sweet) and Brady wouldn't even try them which surprised me considering his love for chocolate and mini muffins. Oh, well...we shared with friends and I sure am enjoying them.
Today, I decided to keep it simple and work on our letters to Santa. Now, why would I need Pinterest for this? Well, Kaitlyn can write and spell family names and her sight words (Brady can't write at all yet - he still scribbles)...so, I needed a template that allowed Kaitlyn to "fill in the blanks". I also got some cute self inking stamps so they can decorate the letter and envelope.
I have attached the picture of the letter template.
Click here to be taken to the link where you can print out the letter template. Feel free to print out one of your own to help your kiddos write a letter to Santa.
I will post pics of the kids writing their letters later.

Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheese!!

Brady decided he wanted to have his birthday party with his friends at Chuck E Cheese. He invited his best buddies from school and we had a great time. He scored tons of tickets in the ticket blaster, had a Star Wars cake and had a great time playing games with all his friends. Here are some highlights from the awesome party! A weekend in the city...

Kaitlyn has her first Irish dance feis here in downtown Atlanta. We decided to make a weekend of it (she dances today and tomorrow) and spend the night at the hotel where the feis is being held. We started very early this morning with Kaitlyn dancing just before 9am! She did amazing and placed in both her dances (second in jig; 3rd in reel). After she finished dancing we headed to the children's museum of Atlanta. The kids had a blast trying all the cool things to do. Then we grabbed some lunch in centennial park (it's 65 degrees here so we ate outside!!) and then hit the aquarium. The kids are excited to swim at the indoor pool later and then it's more dancing in the morning!

Kaitlyn's first ATL Irish Dance performance

Since moving to Atlanta, the kids had to get involved in their activities down here. Kaitlyn started Irish dancing at Mulligan School back in August. She competed in her first Southern Region Feisanna in November. Tonight, she performed at her first community event with some of the other girls from the dance studio. She did fantastic. I took several pictures as well as a video of her dancing with the other girls. She will be doing many more performances as she made the Tara Dance Company (which is a handpicked dance team that travels the city in the Spring doing performances). We are quite proud of our little Irish dancer and can't wait to see where her dancing takes us! Here is the video...
